University of St Andrews Jujitsu Club

Specialising in throws, locks, groundwork, and much more, Jujitsu (meaning the Gentle Art in Japanese) is a style of martial arts focused on using your opponent’s strength against them. This means that it is open to everyone regardless of strength, and it works against anyone, no matter their size. Just as in life, potential threats come with no weight categories or rules, we train in order to be competent and prepared for any situation the world can throw at us. But we are honing not just our techniques, we train our mindsets and attitudes in ways that are applicable for everyday situations. Our members range from complete newcomers to very experienced martial artists – beginners are always welcome!
